How to Clean Ziploc Containers
- 1). Fill the sink with 1 gal. warm water and 1 tsp. dish soap. Pour 1 tsp. white vinegar into the water as well if you need a disinfecting agent, which is sometimes necessary when strong-smelling foods were previous stored in the Ziploc containers.
- 2). Place the Ziploc containers into the water, and if you are using Ziploc bags, turn the inside out.
- 3). Wipe down the containers with a dish rag and rinse the Ziploc containers with warm water. Use a nylon scrubbing pad to gently scrub if the dish cloth is not removing the residue. Let Ziploc containers air dry after rinsing.
- 4). Saturate a cleaning rag with white vinegar and rub over heavier stains caused by sauces and similar foods. Wipe the cleaning rag over the entire container, and rinse the container with hot water when finished.
- 5). Deodorize by pouring about 1/4 cup baking soda into the container. Seal the container and let the baking soda sit inside overnight to absorb odor. Discard the baking soda the next day, and rinse the container with hot water.
