How to Remove a Smell From Leather Furniture
- 1). Sprinkle the area with baking soda. If you would like to add a fragrance to the furniture, add a few drops of essential oil to the baking soda. Do not wet the baking soda or make a paste.
- 2). Let the baking soda sit on the furniture for at least two hours.
- 3). Vacuum the baking soda with a vacuum hose. Use a hose that has a smooth attachment so that any sharp plastic edges do not scratch the furniture.
- 4). Reapply the baking soda if you still notice a smell. Let it sit for another hour and vacuum it up.
- 1). Mix one part water with one part rubbing alcohol.
- 2). Soak a clean cloth with the mixture and wring as much of it out as possible.
- 3). Rub the mixture into the leather furniture. Do not over wet the leather, as this could ruin the texture and condition of the furniture.
- 4). Dry the area completely with another clean and dry cloth. Do not let the furniture air dry as this could leave watermarks.
