- 1). Spoon or scrape up any loose Blue Ice gel from the carpet. Place it in a sealed disposable container and throw away. Blue Ice is made from propylene glycol, methylcellulose and FD&C blue 1, none of which are toxic.
- 2). Sponge drycleaning solvent over the area stained by the Blue Ice. When the area is thoroughly wetted, blot up the solvent. Repeat until no more of the stain comes up. Treat according to directions with a general spot cleaner.
- 3). Blot and rinse the spot cleaner. Sponge the area with amyl acetate, then flush again by sponging in drycleaning solvent. Allow the area to completely dry. A fan helps dry the area faster.
- 4). Rinse the area by sponging in water and blotting it back up.
- 5). Rinse the area again by blotting with vinegar and sponge up the vinegar. Rinse with water, blot dry again and allow to dry.
- 6). Rinse the area with a 10 percent solution of ammonia and water and blot dry.
- 7). Rinse the area with alcohol and blot dry with paper towels and allow to dry.
