How to Remove Paving Stones

104 89
    • 1). Get a wire clothes hanger and untwist it so that you have one piece of wire. Use a pair of wire cutters and cut two pieces of approximately 8-inch wires. Avoid using the area of the wire that was wrapped around the neck of the hanger.

    • 2). Use the pliers to straighten each piece of wire, then bend the bottom 1 inch of each wire piece out at a 90-degree angle.

    • 3). Hold one wire in each hand with the bent end facing the stone you wish to lift; the bent ends should run parallel with the edges of the stone. Work the bent sides of the wire into the sand borders on the sides of the stone, far enough so that they are lower than the bottom of the stone.

    • 4). Twist the wires so that the bent ends rotate 90 degrees and are directly under the stone.

    • 5). Pull up on the wires and the stone will come right up.
