How to Fix Up a Bathroom in a Hurry

104 4

    Clean

    • Grab a large plastic bag, some pine soap, a bottle of bleach, bathroom cleaner and a pile of clean cloths. Start by squirting a liberal amount of bleach in your toilet bowl, and bathroom cleaner around your bath and sink. Then move on to wiping over your bathroom floor with warm water and pine soap while the bleach and cleaner take effect. Wash away the bleach and shine your bath, toilet and sink. You’ll need the trash bag to dispose of your used cloths.

    Paint

    • Few things brighten up a room like a fresh coat of paint. If you're using the same color as the paint that's already on your walls, you can get away with adding just one coat. This shouldn't take too long at all. It will hide any unpleasant discoloration that may have formed on your walls and make your bathroom feel a lot brighter. If your bathroom walls are covered with tiles, give these a thorough clean and shine with your bathroom cleaner.

    Decorate

    • Buy a blind to install over your bathroom window if it's looking a little sorry for itself. You can also brighten up your bathroom by adding a few strategically positioned potted plants or flowers and a decorative toothbrush or soap holder. Help take your visitors' minds off the decorative order of your bathroom by putting a few interesting books by your toilet for them to read.

    Scent

    • Although the cleaning products and paint you've used should have freshened up the smell of your bathroom, a few scented candles or an air freshener will add to the more pleasant environment you have created. You should also leave your bathroom window open to let in plenty of fresh air, even if this means turning the heat up.
