- 1). Remove the blinds from the window. Removal instructions will vary depending on how the blinds are affixed to the window frame. A screwdriver may be required to take down the blinds.
- 2). Lay a couple of old towels on the bottom of your bathtub. This will prevent scratches to both the blinds and the tub during cleaning.
- 3). Place the dirty Venetian blinds in the bathtub on top of the towel. Place a couple of squirts of dish soap into the tub and fill it with enough warm water to cover the blinds.
- 4). Let the blinds soak in the tub for 30 minutes. Run a soft rag along each of the blind slats. Make sure to clean along the top edge of the blinds.
- 5). Flip the blinds over. Clean each slat again with the soft rag.
- 6). Drain the water from the bathtub. Rinse the blinds thoroughly with plain water from the shower. If you have a detachable shower head, this will come in handy for rinsing the blinds.
- 7). Place the blinds outside to dry. They can be hung over a clothesline, fence or laid on a picnic table to dry. If you cannot lay them outside to dry, hang them over a shower rod or lay them on old towels on the bathroom floor to dry.
