How to Join Carpet Seams

104 1
    • 1). Cut the carpet edges straight along the seam area. Dry fit the two pieces to ensure the carpet pile or pattern matches.

    • 2). Place the carpet seaming tape beneath the carpet seam, glue side up. Half of the tape should be under each side of the carpet seam.

    • 3). Heat the seaming tape using the seaming iron. Be care not to burn yourself or the carpet.

    • 4). Roll over the carpet seam with the roller. Be sure to do this while the seaming tape is still hot to get the best connection.
