How to Clean Marble Products
- 1). Sprinkle cornstarch over the oil stain to soak up as much of it as possible. This is preferable over just wiping up the stain, which will spread it and push it further into the marble.
- 2). Let the cornstarch sit for at least one hour, giving it time to soak up oil that has sunk into the marble surface.
- 3). Sweep up the cornstarch and throw it away.
- 4). Apply 1 drop of mild liquid dish soap to the oil stain. The dish soap will cut through the grease.
- 5). Scrub the stain with a water-dampened sponge until you remove the stain.
- 6). Rinse the area with clear water and dry it completely. Never let the marble air dry as water streaks will develop.
- 1). Mix 1 cup hydrogen peroxide with 1 tsp. ammonia.
- 2). Dip a cloth into the solution.
- 3). Rub the cloth over the stained area and let the solution soak into the marble for five minutes.
- 4). Rinse the area with clear water and dry it completely.
- 1). Soak a clean cloth in clear water. Wring it so that you have removed most of the water.
- 2). Wipe the marble until you remove the dust, dirt and other debris.
- 3). Wipe the marble with a clean cloth until it is dry to keep water marks from developing.
