- 1). Unplug the range from the wall outlet, or turn off the range breaker.
- 2). Open the oven door, then remove the screws from under the front of the main top, securing the top to the stove.
- 3). Lift the top, then secure it up using a large object such as a stick, or have a partner hold it up.
- 4). Remove the screws securing the cross-braces, which secure the burners, to the underside of the main top. Place the cross-braces and burners on the surface below the main top.
- 5). Lift the main top up and off of the range. Discard the old top.
- 6). Place the new top onto the range, and align the tabs at the rear of the panel with the slots on the underside of the control panel.
- 7). Secure the burners and cross-braces to the underside of the glass-top panel, then secure using the screws that were removed from the underside of the old panel.
- 8). Lower the main top and reinstall the screws on the underside of the front of the main top to secure it to the range.
- 9). Plug the range's power cord back into the wall outlet to restore power to the range and complete the repair.
