How to Put Stainless Steel Pots in a Dishwasher
- 1). Remove any leftover food and debris with a small amount of liquid dish soap and water using the sponge. This is not necessary if you can easily rinse away the debris with water.
- 2). Place the stainless steel pots and pans into the dishwasher face down on the bottom rack first. If the bottom rack becomes full, you can use the top rack if the pots will fit in there. Avoid leaning them against any breakable objects, such as glass cookware or plates. Do not stack or overload the stainless steel or any other dishes or cookware.
- 3). Ensure the spinning water-spraying element will clear any dishes stacked into the dishwasher by pushing both top and bottom racks into the dishwasher then spinning the element by hand. If it hits any dishes, rearrange or restack them.
- 4). Fill the soap dispenser in the dishwasher with dishwasher detergent. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for the amount of detergent to use.
- 5). Close the dishwasher and start its "Normal" wash cycle.
- 6). Dry the stainless steel cookware thoroughly with a clean and dry dish towel when the wash cycle completes. This will help avoid water spots from drying on the stainless steel surface. Repeat these steps as necessary to clean stainless steel pots and pans in the future.
