How to Get JELL-O Stains Out of Carpet
- 1). Pour a small amount of water over the Jell-O stain. It is important for the stain to remain a liquid so you can remove it easier. If the stain has already dried, add the water and wait a few minutes. It will become liquid again.
- 2). Lay a white towel over the stain and gently press down on it. This will draw up some of the liquid from the Jell-O. It will stain the towel, so don't use your favorite white bath towels. Keep blotting up the liquid until the towel is no longer absorbing the liquid.
- 3). Mix 1/8 cup of an oxygen-based cleaning product such as OxiClean, with two cups of hot water. Pour this mixture into a spray bottle. Spray your Jell-O stain with it, and let it sit for five minutes.
- 4). Use another white towel to blot up the rest of the Jell-O stain. Remember to press down gently. Continue until all of the liquid has been absorbed by the towel.
- 5). Sprinkle the area with a few drops of vinegar to get rid of any lingering odors that may be in the fibers of the carpet.
