How to Remove Glue From the Front of a Photo

    • 1). Purchase a petroleum- or limonene-based stain remover. Most available brands act as adhesive solvents intended for general household purposes and can be safely applied to photo paper without the risk of water damage.

    • 2). Lay the photograph down on a flat surface with the front exposed. Secure it firmly before applying the stain remover in order to prevent movement.

    • 3). Dampen a cotton ball with a small amount of stain remover, but do not to soak it completely.

    • 4). Apply solvent to the glue stain with light sweeping motions until it begins to loosen. Avoid spreading the solution onto any unaffected areas of the photo.

    • 5). Wipe any remaining stain remover from the photo using a clean, dry cloth.
