Samsung 46" LCD TV 120 Hz Problems
- If an external device is connected to the Samsung 46-inch, 120 hertz LCD TV and the colors look wrong -- for example, blues look red -- check the component connectors to make sure they're connected to the matching-colored jacks on both the source device and the TV. Change the aspect ratio to Screen Fit if your TV is currently set to display a 4-to-3 aspect ratio and you're seeing dotted lines on the left and right sides of the screen. If the picture freezes when you're changing cable channels, set the cable box to output in either a 1080i or 720p resolution.
- Ensure the built-in TV speaker hasn't been unexpectedly turned off in the Equalizer part of the Sound section in the TV's main menu. If you can't hear an external device's audio through your TV, firmly plugged the device's audio cables into both your TV and the device. Alternatively, turn the volume up on the external source device. If you're not hearing audio associated with cable channels and the cable box is connected to the TV via an HDMI cable, set the cable box to output audio through the HDMI cable.
- If you unexpectedly lost your wireless connection on your 46-inch Samsung TV, check the USB dongle on the right side of the TV to ensure it's firmly connected to the TV. Navigate to the Network Setup section part of the main menu and set the Network Type to Wireless; if someone changed this setting, you'll lose your wireless connection. If you have connected the USB dongle to the TV and have not set up a wireless network, connect to a wireless network via the Wireless Network section in the TV's main menu.
- Change your TV from Demo to Home Use mode if the personal settings on your TV disappear every time you turn the TV off and then turn it back on, or after using the TV for 30 minutes. If a "Mode Not Supported" message is displayed on your Samsung TV, change the output resolution on your external device to a resolution that's compatible with your Samsung TV. If closed captioning is on but the box is just a gray box with no text in it and you're watching an external device, turn off the TV's closed captioning and enable closed captioning through the external device.
