How to Use a 2X Teleconverter on a Pentax DSLR
- 1). Mount the 2x teleconverter onto your Pentax DSLR. Choosing a teleconverter that is manufactured by Pentax is best as it ensures mounting compatibility with the camera body and the prime lens.
- 2). Screw the prime lens onto the teleconverter.
- 3). Look through your camera's viewfinder. You should notice about a 2x magnification of the scene before you.
- 4). Focus the scene using manual or auto focus. A 2x teleconverter will allow you to use both auto and manual focusing techniques.
- 5). Adjust your ISO (sensor's sensitivity to light) rating and shutter speed accordingly. Remember that a 2x teleconverter will result in one f-stop less of exposure, so you must either increase your ISO rating or decrease your shutter speed to compensate.
- 6). Remove the teleconverter by first unscrewing the prime lens. Press the small release tab near the bottom of the camera body's mount and unscrew the adapter.
