How Do I Hide the Wires in My Plasma TV?
- 1). Cut a hole for the volume control in the wall with a utility knife or drywall saw.
- 2). Cut holes in the ceiling to hold the speakers.
- 3). Cut two holes where the ceiling and wall meet, one in the ceiling and one in the wall, to form two adjoining holes.
- 4). Insert the fish tape through the adjoining holes and remove it through the volume-control hole.
- 5). Loop the wire that will lead from the volume control to the ceiling speaker over the fish tape’s hook. Secure it to the hook with electrical tape.
- 6). Pull the wire through the ceiling hole.
- 7). Create a notch in the top plates and insert the wire through them. Cover them with nail plates.
- 8). Wire the speaker and volume control. Mount the speaker and volume control.
- 9). Patch the adjoining holes.
- 1). Pry the door molding away with a small crowbar.
- 2). Score and chisel out the spacers on the sides of the door frame where you want the wires to fit.
- 3). Run the cable around the door between the frame and the jam.
- 4). Replace the molding.
- 1). Determine how much wire you have to conceal and attain a piece of raceway conduit of adequate length and diameter to fit.
- 2). Sand and paint the conduit to match the wall, if desired.
- 3). Clean the area of wall that will hold the conduit and allow it to dry.
- 4). Run the wires through the conduit and attach the conduit to the wall with the adhesive strip on the back of it.
