- 1). Fold your piece of fabric in half and mark out the shape of the cushion.
- 2). Cut out the shape. You'll have two identical pieces to stitch together. Pillows can be square, round or rectangular.
- 3). Put your fabric right-sides together and stitch around three sides using your sewing machine or a straight stitch with a needle and thread.
- 4). Turn right-side out and stuff with cotton batting or insert a piece of foam cut to size.
- 5). Turn the edges of the unsewn side under. Stitch the opening closed. For a virtually invisible closure, use an overhand stitch.
