How to Make Free Cloth Bags
- 1). Place your 48-inch-by-24-inch piece on a flat surface with the side you want to be outside facing up. Fold the fabric in half so that you have a 24-inch-by-24-inch square.
- 2). Sew the sides of the rectangle together with the needle and thread.
- 3). Flip the fabric you just sewed inside out so that the seams are on the inside of the bag. Iron all of the seams to make them crisp and even.
- 4). Take one of the strips of fabric that are 19 inches long by 4 inches wide and fold it over itself so that it is 19 inches long and 2 inches wide. Sew the edges together to form a tube. Repeat this for the other thin strip of fabric.
- 5). Turn the tube you sewed inside out so the seams are inside. Iron the tube to make seams crisp.
- 6). Fold over the edges of the tube approximately 1/2 inch and sew them so that the tube is closed. Attach both edges to either side of the interior of the bag with the needle and thread.
