    • 1). Lay one kitchen towel on the table in front of you with the long edges on the right and left and the short edges at the top and bottom. If your towel has a printed side and a plain side, lay it with the printed side down. Fold the top edge down 3/4 inch. Pin this fold to hold it securely. Fold the bottom edge up 3/4 inch and pin it securely.

    • 2). Sew the two folded edges on your sewing machine, sewing right along the hem stitching edge of your towel. Back stitch at the end of each seam to make sure that it is secure. This creates a small sleeve at each end of the towel.

    • 3). Cut the second towel in half across the width. Lay the first towel on the table like it was before. Pin the cut edge of each towel half to the side edges of the first towel. The four ends of the two towels will make a cross shape, with the sleeve ends at the top and bottom and the other towel ends at right and left. Stitch the cut ends to the towel edges.

    • 4). Slip a dowel into each sleeve at the ends of the towel. Use a needle and thread to stitch the ends of the sleeves closed, encasing the dowels. This will ensure that the dowels won't fall out when transporting the casserole.

    • 5). Lay the carrier on a table with the dowels at the top and the bottom and the printed side down. Place your casserole dish on top of the carrier, with the long sides of the dish at the top and the bottom.

    • 6). Fold the right and left towel pieces over your casserole. Fold the bottom edge of the carrier up and the top edge of the carrier down so that the two dowels meet in the middle above the center of the casserole. Grasp the two fabric-covered dowels to pick up your casserole and safely transport it.
