How to Troubleshoot a Boss Br-1180

104 3
    • 1). Verify that both the Boss BR-1180 and any connected equipment is powered on if the device isn't registering any input or output audio. For the best results, plug the device directly into an outlet instead of using an extension cord.

    • 2). Make sure the BR-1180's various connection cables are securely plugged all the way into their respective ports if you hear no sound from input or output devices like microphones or speakers, or if you notice audio interference.

    • 3). Remove all wireless devices like cell phones from the room containing the BR-1180 if you hear loud humming, static or similar audio interference. The mixing device is very sensitive to such wireless communication devices.

    • 4). Adjust the BR-1180's master fader switch if you hear audio but it sounds muted. The master fader controls all of the sounds emitted. It's located on the BR-1180's main front panel. Set it to a comfortable listening level.

    • 5). Use new recording media if you're trying to save your audio onto a CD-RW but the BR-1180 gives you errors or won't burn it to the disk. Media that has been previously used may corrupt your data or may not have enough room to accommodate your new data.

    • 6). Contact the Boss technical service line at 323-890-3700 if you still cannot get the BR-12180 to work as you like. Customer service representatives are available to help you every weekday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. PST. Alternatively, take the BR-1180 into the nearest Boss service center (see Resources).
