Garmin Quest Troubleshooting
- 1). Press and hold the power button for a few seconds if the Quest does not turn on. Plug the battery charge cable into the Quest and connect to a working power supply to recharge the batteries if the unit still does not turn on.
- 2). Step outside and into a relatively clear space if you do not receive a GPS signal after turning on the Quest device. Wait a few seconds for the unit to search for and locate a satellite signal.
- 3). Avoid areas with shade if the "Poor Satellite Reception Menu" appears on the display. This indicates that the unit is having difficulty locating satellite signals, which may be due to heavily shaded areas, buildings or other signal obstructions.
- 4). Turn off the satellite feature when indoors if the unit loses battery power quickly. Press the "Page" key and then "Menu". Choose the "Use Indoors" feature when using the unit indoors and press "OK". This will reduce battery drain. Turn the device off when not in use.
- 5). Move forward if the compass is not updating during use. The compass feature will not operate while standing still.
