    • 1). Cut a white paper plate in half. Set one half aside.

    • 2). Hold the remaining paper-plate half up to the face, flat edge down, and mark where the eyes should go. Cut each eye hole.

    • 3). Lay the paper plate flat. Draw diamond shapes around the eye holes. Add an arch over each eye hole for eyebrows and glue a large red or pink pom-pom in the center of the flat edge for the clown nose.

    • 4). Cut a large triangle from a piece of colored construction paper for the clown hat. Decorate the triangle with glitter and glue a colorful pom-pom to the top of the hat. Glue the hat to the top of the clown face, slightly above the eyebrows. Set aside to dry.

    • 5). Retrieve the unused half of paper plate. Cut off the fluted edge, and then cut the fluted edge in half so you have two 4-in. sections. Draw wiggly lines in the ridges with a marker and glue them to the sides of the clown face for hair.

    • 6). Punch a hole on either side of the clown face. String one end of the ribbon in the hole on the left from the front of the face and out from the back of the clown face on the right. Pull the ribbon through until you have a long enough length to tie the ribbon around your child's head to secure the mask in place. Cut the ribbon to length.
