The Difference Between Shure E2 & E2C

  Shure E2 and E2c are premium earbud-style headphones with a few minute differences. Both products have been discontinued by Shure, but they are still widely available online. These headphones have extensive similarities, including electronics like gold-plated male plugs, dynamic transducers and 105 dB sensitivity. The differences between the two are primarily aesthetic: color, length and packaging. Both products include a carrying case and custom foam ear fittings.
  
  

Color

• Shure E2s are intended for basic studio recording applications and are black. E2Cs were developed for consumer applications like iPods and laptops, and are available in black and clear.
  
  

Packaging

• There are distinct differences in the packaging of E2 and E2c. In the North American markets, E2 packaging has warm tones with earbuds visible in the top-right corner. The E2Cs have the earbuds visible in the center of the packaging, which features red tones.
  
  

Cord

• Cord length and flexibility vary between the two models. E2Cs have a flexible, 62-inch cord, making them suitable for everyday use. The E2 has a rigid cord extension that measures 56 inches.
