Laser Records Vs. Vinyl Records

Sound Differences

  • Vinyl records produce a warmer and richer sound compared to their digitally recorded counterparts. On many CDs the levels of each instrument and vocals have been digitally adjusted so one doesn't outshine the other. However, as a vinyl record plays on a turntable, a constant scratching and hissing noise can be faintly heard in the background even when music is not playing. This hissing noise becomes louder and more noticeable as the record receives more wear and tear from use.
