Crafts to Make for Your Room

    Beaded Curtains

    • Make beaded curtains to hang in front of a closet or a window in your room. Create beaded strands using lengths of fishing line, curtain rods and a variety of glass, wood, ceramic, seashell or crystal beads. Make each strand individually and tie it to a sturdy curtain rod that's attached to the wall. Multiple strands of beads can be heavy, so tension rods may not hold up under the weight.

    Mobiles

    • Mobiles are hanging decorations that you can customize based on your interests and your room décor. Hang small, lightweight objects from a craft ring using fishing line, yarn or variety of beading cords. Painted CDs, beaded strands, crystal prisms, stained-glass tiles and small stuffed animals are a few of the items you can use to craft a mobile for your room.

    French Memo Board

    • A French memo board is similar to a bulletin board, but more decorative. Make one by covering an artist's canvas or a soft wood board with fabric that coordinates with your room's décor. Create a checkerboard pattern or a diagonal striped pattern across the front of the board with pretty ribbon. Glue buttons, beads or insert decorative upholstery nails wherever the ribbons cross. Slip photos, paper memorabilia and notes between the ribbons and the fabric.

    Mosaic Mirror

    • Make a decorative mirror with a mosaic border for your room using broken ceramics, glass beads and mosaic tiles. Begin with a plain mirror that you can hang on the wall. Glue the mosaic objects to the surface of the mirror using viscous craft glue that dries clear. Don't worry about grouting the mosaic, place the objects close together and stack them to camouflage seams. Create a random mosaic pattern around the perimeter of the mirror, 2 to 4 inches wide.

    Necklace Holder

    • Create a necklace holder you can hang on the wall in your room to prevent tangled necklaces and other jewelry. Paint or decoupage magazine cutouts onto a wooden picture frame to coordinate with your room. Attach cup-hook screws or decorative knobs around the perimeter of the frame to hold the necklaces and other jewelry.
