- 1). Switch off the GPS unit either by sliding or pressing and holding the power button, depending on the model.
- 2). Unscrew the metal ring on the end of the antenna cable from the jack on the GPS device and pull the cable straight off the unit.
- 3). Grip the antenna assembly by the base, not the antenna itself, and pull up on the base to break the magnetic connection with the metal surface underneath.
