    • 1). Reset the TV by unplugging its power cord from the electrical outlet into which it is plugged and plugging it back in after 30 seconds. Power the TV back on and check for any improvement in picture quality.

    • 2). Unplug the audio/video connection cables that attach the device you are using to the Trinitron and check the ends of the cables for any bending or damage. Plug them back in securely and check the picture for any improvement.

    • 3). Replace the audio/video connection cables attaching the device to the TV with another set. By far the most common cause of this issue is when the audio/video cables have simply gone bad. If the picture improves with the new cables, simply continue to use the new set. If not, further troubleshooting is required.

    • 4). Scan all your channels and video inputs to determine the scope of the problem. If the green lines only appear on one or more cable channels and not on any of the video inputs, you could be experiencing a cable service degradation, and you would need to contact the technical support department of your cable TV provider. If the lines appear on only one of the video inputs, and replacing the connection cables does not improve the picture, the device you are trying to watch could be causing the issue. If you see the lines on every channel and input, the TV will likely need to be serviced for a problem with its picture components.
