How to Copy BlackBerry Storm Contacts to a Computer
- 1). Connect one end of the data cable to the port on the side of your BlackBerry Storm. Connect the other end into any available USB port on your computer. If an AutoPlay window appears on your computer, click the "X" to close it.
- 2). Launch the BlackBerry Desktop Software program. If you do not have the program, which came on a disc with your Storm, you can download the latest version from the BlackBerry website.
- 3). Click the "Organizer" button on the left side of the window. Click the "Configure Settings" button in the middle of the screen.
- 4). Click the box next to "Address Book." A new window will appear. Click "ASCII Importer/Exporter" in the window and click "Next." Select "One Way Sync From Device" and click "Next."
- 5). Click the "Browse" button to open a Windows Explorer window. Go to the folder where you want to save your BlackBerry information. Type in any file name you want into the "File Name" field, and end the file name with ".csv" to denote that you are creating a CSV file. Click "Open" to continue. Click "Yes" for the prompt that asks if you want to create a file. Click "Next" to continue, then "Finish." Select "OK" to complete the setup process.
- 6). Click the green "Sync" button in the lower-right corner of the window. Click "Accept" when the software shows you what changes it will make to your file. Your contacts will now be saved to that file on your computer.
