- 1). Block your land line or cellular number on a single-call basis. Dial *67 on your land line, and you will hear four short tones followed by the regular dial tone. Dial the phone number of the person you would like to call. When using a cellular phone, dial *67 and the number you wish to call and press "talk." The *67 function works only for a single phone call. When you end that phone call, the call block is no longer in effect. You must dial *67 before each phone call to block your number.
- 2). Place the call through a third party. Call from a pay phone, use a pre-paid phone card, or dial 0 for the operator and have the operator place the call.
- 3). Block your number on a permanent basis. Call your home phone or cellular phone service provider, and purchase a call-blocking service that will block your number for all outgoing calls.
