- 1). Push the power dial to the "ON" position to turn on your Sony Handycam. Turn the rotating dial to the "Camera" position.
- 2). Press the "Eject" button on the bottom of your camera to open the tape tray. Insert your tape and push down the metal casing around the tape. Wait for the tape to go back in the camera.
- 3). Open the left panel of the camera to launch the video display screen. Remove the lens cap and use the screen to look at what you are recording.
- 4). Press the red dotted button on the back of your camera to begin recording.
- 5). Locate the night vision button on the top of your Handycam (it is usually labeled "Nightshot"). Slide the button to the "ON" position to enable night vision.
