- 1). Position the wheelbarrow near the site where you intend to pour the concrete for the patio.
- 2). Fill the wheelbarrow with Portland cement, sand and gravel in the ratio 1:2:3.
- 3). Mix the dry materials in the wheelbarrow with a shovel.
- 4). Slowly add water to the dry materials. It is easiest to use a garden hose with a sprayer attachment so that you can easily control the flow of water. As you add water, stir the mixture with a shovel until it has the consistency of pancake batter. Be careful not to add too much water or the concrete will not set properly.
- 5). Immediately spread the concrete for the patio.
