How to Replace Kitchen Cabinet Drawer Slides
- 1). Pull out the drawer, and lift up once it is at the end of the slide to remove it from the cabinet.
- 2). Remove the screws that hold the old slides in place and pull them out. Pry out the slides using a pry bar if the slide does not have screws and is glued on. Be careful not to damage the wood.
- 3). Remove the old slide from the bottom of the drawer by removing the screw and pulling it off. Pry it off if there is no screw and it is glued.
- 4). Measure the width of the drawer, and find the center point if there is no slide on the bottom of the drawer. Draw a line down the middle of the drawer.
- 5). Place the new slide on the center line of the drawer, and attach it with the provided screws.
- 6). Attach the new bottom half of the slide on to the support rail inside the cabinet using the screws provided in the kit. Insert the screws into the pre-drilled holes.
- 7). Slide in the drawer to test whether it slides in straight. Adjust the slides if necessary.
