How to Remove Contact Cement from Drywall

    • 1). Protect the floor. Lay a drop cloth or plastic sheeting on the ground so no product damages the floor.

    • 2). Cover the contact cement on the wall with heavy-duty adhesive remover. Use a paintbrush and cover the contact cement thoroughly with adhesive remover and allow to sit for 30 minutes.

    • 3). Scrape the contact cement from the drywall using a flexible scraper. Let the area dry.

    • 4). Sand the drywall with fine-grit sandpaper, removing any remaining contact cement. Take care not to damage the drywall.
