How to Spray for Spiders
- 1). Remove spider webs outside of your home with a web remover that has an extended handle. A web remover resembles a broom. The extended handle comes in a variety of lengths and allows you to get to hard-to-reach places. Wipe away webs from window frames, light fixtures and overhangs. Wiping away the webs before spraying removes egg sacs, gets an even liquid coverage and keeps spiders from hiding behind their webs when you spray.
- 2). Use a chemical concentrated treatment that contains lamda-chyalothrin or deltamethrin. Put on rubber gloves and dilute the concentrate with water according to package instructions. Make up to 2 gallons.
- 3). Wear goggles or a face shield and spray the outside of your home using a low-pressure sprayer or pump sprayer. Spray cable entry points, window and door frames, decks, stoops and patios. Walk around the house as you spry, and don't allow any children or animals in the yard until the spray has dried.
- 4). Clean up clutter inside the home because clutter gives spiders a place to hide. Move furniture out of the way and pick up pillows and clothes off the floor. This also helps make indoor spraying easier.
- 5). Wipe away visible spider webs with a web remover that has an extended handle. Use a vacuum cleaner or broom as an alternative. Sweep corners of rooms, window frames, and basement and storage areas.
- 6). Spray all rooms of your house and cover all corners, cracks and crevices that may serve as an entry point for spiders. Keep children and pets out of sprayed areas until the chemical liquid has dried.
- 7). Spray cobweb eliminator in areas where cobwebs were found to keep them from reappearing. Cobweb eliminator is an all-natural product and doesn't contain any chemicals. It can be used to treat rooms of people sensitive to pesticides or for rooms of people with asthma.
- 8). Keep a can of spider spray in your house at all times. Spray it onto a spider when you see one to kill it. As an alternative, cover a spider with a jar and slide a piece of paper under the jar to trap the spider. You can then release it outside.
