How to Caulk a Window's Inside Glass
- 1). Ventilate the area to prepare a safe working environment. Use a pair of protective latex gloves to avoid direct contact with the caulk.
- 2). Wipe away any loose debris from the exposed seams of the window using a damp cloth. Apply a non-ammonia cleaner to the areas that contain more stubborn residue.
- 3). Load a cartridge of silicone or latex sealant into a caulking gun. Squeeze a bead of it no more than one quarter of an inch thick directly into a corner of a seam in the glass.
- 4). Spread the bead of caulk along the entire length of a seam using your index finger. Use the back of a smooth, beveled surface, such as an old spoon, to evenly spread the sealant if the surface is too rough.
- 5). Press the caulk firmly into the seams and repeat the same steps for all targeted spots on the window glass. Allow the silicone caulk to cure overnight.
