Decorating Bathroom Ideas With an Exposed Brick Wall

    Mirrors

    • Hang a vintage-looking mirror on your exposed brick wall. Bonus points for mirrors that have an antiqued finish on the mirror surface. The mirror should be large enough that it covers a good chunk of your wall. Consult a mirror-hanging specialist or pay a specialist to install the mirror, as exposed brick walls can be crumbly and fall apart in certain sections because of the bricks' age.

    Crown Molding and Paneling

    • If you love exposed brick walls but still want a traditional feel in your bathroom, consider installing paneling and crown molding on the lower half of the wall. You can paint the paneling a bold or traditional color -- such as red or navy -- and paint the crown molding a bright white.

    Hanging Keys

    • Purchase old, antique metal keys in varying sizes from a flea market. Think of large cellar keys. String decorative fabric through the openings of the keys, hammer small nails into the grout separating the brick, and hang the keys on the nails. Cover the entire wall. You will create a vintage, charming feel that evokes the "unlocking" of peace and whimsy.

    Warnings

    • Sometimes exposed brick walls crumble because of age and are home to insects, such as centipedes. This can happen during the summer, when the wall radiates heat. The centipedes may emerge from cracks and holes in the wall. You can dry to seal the cracks or call an exterminator. Centipedes move quickly.
