- 1). Heat an iron on a setting appropriate for the type of fabric you are folding.
- 2). Fold the clothing item to the desired length and pin it in place with straight pins.
- 3). Iron over the fold to crease it and smooth over the area to prevent puckering.
- 4). Remove the straight pins.
- 5). Sew along the top edge of the folded fabric with matching thread using a needle or sewing machine. Cut away any excess thread.
