How to Care for Faux Flooring
- 1). Dry mop the faux floor with a dust mop once a day and before a thorough cleaning. The dust mop will remove the surface debris off the faux floor.
- 2). Wipe spills off the faux floor as soon as they happen. Leaving spills on the floor will increase the chance of unsightly stains.
- 3). Mop the faux flooring with a sponge mop dampened in diluted white vinegar. Use a ratio of 1 gallon of cold water to 1 cup of white vinegar. Let the white vinegar mixture air dry on the floor.
- 4). Rub scuff marks and ink stains off the faux flooring with a cotton ball dampened in acetone. Wipe the acetone off the floor with a damp cloth.
- 5). Install sliding protectors on the bottom of furniture feet to prevent them from scratching the floor when moved across the surface.
- 6). Lay rugs at each entrance to the faux flooring. The rugs will help reduce the amount of dirt, debris and small pebbles that is tracked onto the floor.
