    • 1). Measure the length of the area where the T-molding will be installed with a measuring tape. Mark the cut locations on the T-molding transition strip with pencil.

    • 2). Cut the T-molding transition strip on the marked locations with a miter saw. Use a piece of sandpaper to smooth the cut ends, and to remove any splinters caused by the saw blade.

    • 3). Snip 1/4 inch off the tube of the construction adhesive tip with scissors. Squeeze a continuous bead of construction adhesive onto the non-wood type of flooring adjacent to the hardwood floor. Keep the bead of construction adhesive positioned on the very edge of the ceramic, stone, linoleum or other type of flooring across from the hardwood.

    • 4). Place the T-molding transition strip on top of the construction adhesive, overlapping onto the flooring surface by 1/4 inch. Press the T-molding down firmly on top of the construction adhesive with your hands. Weight the T-molding strip down with heavy books until the adhesive completely dries. The opposite side of the T-molding strip will cleanly cover the edge of the hardwood floor on the adjacent side, providing your hardwood floors a professional and finished look.

    • 5). Continue installing T-molding transition strips wherever needed.
