Instructions for Making a Marshmallow Shooter
- To make a marshmallow shooter, you'll need a 38-inch length of 1/2-inch PVC pipe. You'll also need two 1/2-inch PVC elbow joints, two 1/2-inch PVC end-caps and two 1/2-inch PVC T-shaped joints. Divide the PVC pipe into five 6-inch lengths and one 8-inch length, either by using a hacksaw or having a hardware store employee cut it for you.
- Place one of the elbow joints on the floor, so that one opening is pointed toward the right and the other is pointed down. Insert a 6-inch length of PVC pipe in each of the joint's openings. Slide an end-cap over the tip of the pipe extending from the bottom opening of the elbow joint.
Attach a T-shaped joint to the end of the pipe extending from the right-facing opening of the elbow joint. Make sure the center opening of the T-shaped joint is pointed up. Slide a 6-inch length of PVC pipe into each of the remaining openings on the T-shaped joint. Fit the top of the pipe extending up from the center hole in the T-shaped joint with an elbow joint; the opening of the elbow joint should point toward the left. Slide a 6-inch length of PVC pipe into the left-facing opening of the elbow joint.
Fit the end of the pipe extending from the right-facing arm of the T-shaped joint with another T-shaped joint. This time, make sure the center opening of the joint is pointed down. Slip the final 6-inch pipe into the center opening on the T-shaped joint; place an end-cap over the bottom of that pipe. Slide the 8-inch length of PVC pipe into the right-facing opening of the T-shaped joint. - Hold the gun by grasping the two 6-inch lengths of PVC pipe extending from the bottom of the shooter. Make sure the barrel (the 8-inch pipe with the open end) is facing away from you. Load a mini marshmallow into the pipe extending from the top of the gun. Point the gun at the target, then blow into the opening that the marshmallow was loaded into. The marshmallow should come flying out of the barrel.
Never point the barrel of the gun at anyone's face, as the marshmallows can cause eye injuries. It's best to wear protective eye goggles while playing with marshmallow shooters. Never inhale while your mouth is on the marshmallow opening; mini marshmallows can present a choking hazard. To clean the gun or remove stuck ammo, take the gun apart and rinse it with hot water.
