How to Attach the Vapor Barrier to the Concrete Block in a Crawl Space

    • 1). Cover the ground of your crawlspace with the vapor barrier, which can 6 mil plastic sheeting. Bring the edges of the sheeting up over the concrete block in the crawlspace.

    • 2). Overlap the seams of additional pieces of plastic sheeting you need to use to cover the whole crawl space floor.

    • 3). Attach the seams with waterproof tape to hold the vapor barrier together.

    • 4). Connect the vapor barrier to the concrete block using concrete nails.

    • 5). Pound stakes into the ground right over the plastic sheet every few feet to hold it in place and create holes where moisture can drain.
