Expecting a Girl Scrapbook Ideas
- A new mother will have her hand hands full with feedings and diaper changes -- never mind the sleep deprivation -- and scrapbooking her baby girl's milestones may be the furthest thing from her mind. Creating a scrapbook that only requires Mom to add photos and write out captions and journaling is a thoughtful gift that serves as a lifelong keepsake. Purchase a scrapbook album and girl themed scrapbooking supplies and design pages for each month of baby's first year. Make the same deign for each month and keep it simple; pages should accommodate standard 4 inch by 6 inch photos. Include space for journaling. To help the new mom personalize the book, include an acid-free journaling pen and a few packages of embellishments, such as baby girl themed stickers, silk flowers or ribbons that the mom can add as she wishes.
- Scrapbooking your pregnancy is a great way to remember that time when you couldn't see your toes and a combination of olives and mashed potatoes was the most delicious meal you could imagine. Include a page for each month of pregnancy with a photo of your growing belly, and write about how you feel, your cravings and things that are happening around you as you prepare for your daughter's birth. A page about the ultrasound -- and the moment you found out you're having a girl -- is a must, as are pages about your preparations for the baby. Take photos of the nursery, the pretty clothing and other items that you purchase for your baby girl, and include them in the scrapbook.
- If you have a collection of photos from when you were a little girl, prepare a scrapbook to compare your early years with your daughters. Start with your baby pictures, and leave space to include photos of your baby girl. Compare your size, feeding and sleeping habits, favorite foods, toys and songs. This type of scrapbook is a fun way to document the similarities --and the differences -- between mother and daughter.
- During the baby shower for the mom-to-be, create an advice book for her, focusing on advice for raising a daughter. Place the scrapbook on a table, and ask guests to write out a note of good wishes and advice on the pages. Take a photo of each guest with the mom-to-be, and adhere it to the page where she wrote out her advice. Before the shower, add several pages throughout with quotations about raising daughters and motherhood in general, and embellish the book with girl-themed embellishments.
