How to Get Sheetrock Plaster Off a Concrete Floor
- 1). Wipe away soft sheet rock plaster with a damp kitchen sponge. Pour water directly onto the plaster if it is still moist and not able to be removed with the damp sponge. Move onto the next steps to remove hardened plaster from the concrete floor.
- 2). Chip away at the plaster of Paris with a plastic paint scraper. Continue to work at the plaster until the larger chunks are removed. Tap on any larger chunks of plaster with the scraper’s blunt edge to dislodge them from the floor.
- 3). Pour lemon juice directly onto any smaller, difficult chunks of the plaster. Allow the acid to soak to the plaster for at least 24 hours.
- 4). Wipe away the remaining plaster with a damp kitchen sponge. The acid erosion will weaken the plaster, allowing you to wipe it away. Reapply the lemon juice to any remaining plaster pieces.
- 5). Sweep up the larger plaster chunks with a broom and dust pan. Remove any finger particles and dust with a vacuum cleaner’s hose attachment or hand vac.
