    How to Make Jewelry Crafts

    • 1). Create stretchy jewelry by using elastic thread. Measure a piece of elastic thread by wrapping it around your wrist, neck or finger. Cut the thread at the measured length. Tie a knot in one end of the thread, and thread beads onto the thread. Tie the two ends of the thread together, and you have created elastic jewelry.

    • 2). Create jewelry with crystallized or other stylish beads using beading wire. Measure the beading wire to your neck or wrist. Cut it with the wire nippers. Thread one end of the wire onto the ring of the jewelry clasp. Secure the wire to the ring by crimping it with the crimping pliers. Thread the decorative beads onto the beading wire. Thread the clasp of the jewelry clasp onto the beaded wire and crimp it to the wire using the crimping pliers. Clasp the necklace or bracelet together, and you have created beaded wire jewelry.

    • 3). Create floating jewelry with invisible thread. If you cannot find invisible thread, simply use clear fishing line. Measure a piece of invisible thread to your neck or wrist. Cut the thread accordingly, and thread one charm or several charms and beads onto the clear line. Tie the ends of the line together to create jewelry that appears to be floating on your skin.

    • 4). Create your own rings by purchasing ring settings. Choose a gemstone to adorn your ring. Measure your gemstone in millimeters and purchase the appropriately sized ring setting. You can purchase yellow gold, white gold, sterling silver or base metal ring settings. Pick up the gemstone with tweezers and place it into the ring setting. Use needle nose pliers to press each prong of the ring onto the gem to hold it in place.

    • 5). Create braided jewelry by using hemp twine. Measure and cut three strands of hemp twine to your neck or wrist. Position the strands to where the ends are even and tie one end of the strands together into a knot. Pin each strand to a piece of cardboard using push pins. Braid the twine by crossing the left strand over the center strand and then crossing the right strand over those strands. Continue braiding until the twine is completely braided. Tie a knot in the end of the braided twine to secure the braid. Use the knotted ends to tie the bracelet or necklace together.
