How to Apply Polyurethane to Concrete Floor
- 1). Sweep the concrete floor thoroughly to remove any dust and debris.
- 2). Coat the floor with an epoxy based concrete paint in the color of your choice, using a paint roller with a ¼ inch nap. Immediately after putting the paint on the floor, use a push broom to smooth the paint into the holes and dips in the concrete. Clean the paint roller and the push room thoroughly and allow them to dry. Allow the paint to dry for 24 hours.
- 3). Paint the floor with a layer of concrete polyurethane, using a paint roller with a ¼ inch nap. It is not necessary to spread the polyurethane, since it will level out as it flows. Allow the polyurethane to dry for 24 hours.
- 4). Dry mop the floor with a microfiber mop or a cotton mop to obtain a high shine. Regular sweeping and mopping will allow the floor to remain in good shape for many years.
