Things to Put on Top of Kitchen Cabinets
- Invest in an assortment of baskets and place them on top of your kitchen cabinets. Add household items that are not so commonly used, such as seasonal cookie cutters and other small goods, to the baskets. This is a way of staying organized while also keeping the top of your kitchen cabinets looking sharp.
- Arrange your recipe books on top of your kitchen cabinets and add decorative bookends to the end of the pile. Keep a few favorite cookbooks at closer grasp, but the bulk of your collection can be stored on the top of your kitchen cabinetry. Decorative bookends add character and style to this new storage area.
- If you're a collector of delicate or breakable items, such as coffee mugs, wine glasses, exotic china or vases, then this is an ideal storage place for these well-loved items. Weave a pattern through the top of your storage cabinet and show off your collectibles. Remember to dust the collection regularly so they are always ready for use.
- If you're short on cupboard space, the top is also an ideal place to store small appliances, such as mixers, blenders and other items that are not used on a daily basis. Avoid having a look that is cluttered by limiting the number of small appliances to three or four per cabinet unit.
