There Will Be More Homeless People In America As Socialism Sets In

The other day, I was talking to a very nice gal who is the manager of a local retail store in our neighborhood.
She worked for a much larger chain store for nearly 20 years, but was laid off.
In the interim of all this economic personal chaos she had lost her home to foreclosure.
The current job she has doesn't pay anything near what her other job paid for with full benefits, thus, she was forced to move back home with her folks at age 33, a major demoralizing unplanned life event and a sense of failure.
Today, she has rented herself a new apartment and is trying to rebuild her life, her credit, and figure out what on earth she's going to do to save for the future and her eventual retirement.
Her prospects don't look very good, and she can't believe this has happened to her because she always did everything right.
Is she a victim of her own circumstances, or is she just one of tens of millions of Americans who got caught in the crossfire of poor centralized economic policymaking? Well, let's talk about this for second, because it is going to be harder and harder as we move towards socialism and away from free-market capitalism for people like her to get back on her feet.
There was an intriguing piece in the Colorado Business Journal recently titled; "Colorado apartment rents hit record high," written by Dennis Huspeni, on August 9, 2012, which stated; "The average rent jumped 7.
4 percent year-over-year, and 3 percent quarter-over-quarter, to $942.
The average rent from the Q1 stood at $914.
" The problem here is two-fold; the real estate sector has too many unoccupied foreclosed homes and inventory on the market - supply and demand issue.
And, people can't get loans to buy homes, as their credit is torched and they just do not have decent employment due to underemployment, or a spouse out of work, and banks are requiring more down than they have available.
Of course, what happens next is usually the government wishes to step in to help people and create rent control laws.
This of course makes things worse because no one wishes to own apartment buildings, because there is no return on investment.
This further decreases local real estate values, and decreases the supply of apartment complexes.
Therefore the prices rise on the outskirts of cities without rent control, and those places with rent control have increased crime rates, therefore more city services are needed such as police.
This means there is an increased tax rate on sales to pay for those city services, therefore fewer people shop in those areas, therefore there are fewer jobs, and the whole economic situation gets worse.
This is pretty much how socialism works, and I would submit to you that there will be millions more homeless Americans as the concept of redistribution of wealth continues.
There's only one way to prevent this, and that is to turn around and go in the other direction as fast as possible, and that will take complete regime change at all levels of government.
There is no other way, but if we continue we will all drive off that cliff together, so I hope you will learn a little bit about economics, and vote with your mind, and not in a fog of dreamland socialism.
Please consider all this and think on it.
