Republicans, Democrats and the Gosh Darn Census

You would think that counting the 300 million plus people in the United States would not evoke so much sound and fury, unfortunately that's not the case.
Right now, the census is a huge political foot ball, as the President is bringing the Census under the Administration's wing.
His political opponents don't like this, knowing demographics are as important to winning elections, even more so perhaps than in business.
The Republicans are livid, and it's already caused a bit of embarrassment on both sides with a nomination to the Administration, such a touchy issue, yet such an important thing.
I worry about the conspiracy theorists also.
Those citizens who fear the government, well they don't like the idea of being GPS'ed by their front door, and that information going to foreign governments or the UN which will have it in case of International Aid to the US.
Giving that data to International Entities makes no one safe in case of future human conflict; see that point, because it could be used to round people up.
History tells us that, so it scares people.
I have thought there and do not like the idea particularly either as historically this can be problematic, especially in an era where people are worried about identity theft, and such.
For this reason, many Americans plan on being gone the day they do the Census, and if they keep showing up, they'll continue to be gone, as no one can make them answer the door, or will laws be put into place making that a crime? And what sort of oppressive government might do such a thing.
It's a catch-22, as we need the data, but at the same time, we must respect people's privacy.
Freedom and privacy mean a lot to Americans, even if they tell their whole life story on Twitter, Facebook or talk out loud in public on their cell phone, amazing really, what a false sense of security, but something they very much wish to feel in control of, even if they aren't or indeed, never were.
Please consider this.
