How to Obtain a Visa for Singapore
- 1). Download and print Form 14A, Application for an Entry Visa, from the website of the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Click "Visa application procedures," then "Application form for a visa (Form 14A)."
- 2). Complete the form by hand, making sure to answer all questions as thoroughly as possible. If a question does not apply to your situation, write "N/A."
- 3). Get two color passport-sized photographs of yourself taken within six months of your visa application. The photos must be 45 mm high and 35 mm wide.
- 4). Make two copies of your passport, starting with the first page and continuing to the page displaying your passport's validity date. If you are not a U.S. citizen, you must make copies of your visa and/or permanent resident card as well.
- 5). Get documented proof from a travel agent displaying a confirmed travel itinerary or air ticket.
- 6). Obtain a money order or write a check covering the visa processing fee. In early 2010 the fee was $20 U.S. If you are submitting your visa application to the Washington, D.C., location, your payment must be made payable to "Singapore Embassy." If you are submitting your application to any other destination, your payment must be payable to "The Consulate-General of Singapore."
- 7). Have a Singaporean company or business contact issue a completed Form V39A, Letter of Introduction for Visa Application, to you if you are applying for a business visa.
- 8). Submit your completed application form, valid passport and supporting documents by certified mail to the Singaporean embassy or consulate closest to your home. You must attach a self-addressed stamped U.S. Postal Service Express Mail return envelope with tracking; other carriers, such as FedEx, UPS and DHL, are not accepted.
