How to Use Chalkboards at a Wedding
- 1). Write down important tasks for wedding planning on a chalkboard, such as creating a guest list, hiring vendors, purchasing a dress, and organizing the wedding party. Seeing pending items displayed on the board motivates you to resolve them in a timely manner and alleviates stress of the wedding.
- 2). Direct your guests to the correct room for your wedding and reception by providing directions on the chalkboard and putting it at the entrance where they can see. Many event halls have large spaces, numerous meeting rooms, and host many weddings on the same day. Help your guests easily find the right location when they arrive at the venue.
- 3). Place a small chalkboard on each table during reception dinner and write the table name on it. Be creative and use a theme to name each table, such as your favorite movies, your favorite places to visit, or even planets. This gives your guests a personal feel than putting a number on the tables.
- 4). Post Polaroid picture of your guests during the reception on a large chalkboard as they dance and celebrate your special day. Even though everyone's camera will be flashing during the wedding, Polaroid pictures give you instant, tangible results that you can hang up to view. Seeing themselves have a good time gives your guests more incentive to have fun, and the pictures become lasting memories for you to keep.
- 5). Play old home videos or slide shows of the wedded couple on a large chalkboard, using it as a projector screen, during your wedding reception. Share your history with your guests on your special day.
