Pink For Fall Weddings

Pink is one of the favorite colors of brides and for weddings.
It can be easy enough to imagine how pink can be incorporated into a pastel spring wedding, but a little trickier to figure out how to include pink into a fall wedding.
But never fear, for here are some great suggestions on how to use a pink color scheme for an autumn wedding in a way that suits the season.
The key is to take pink away from being so light and ethereal, and to give it more weight.
There are two main ways to do this.
The first is with fabric choices and the second is with color combinations.
When pink is treated in a fashion that is less Easter-y and more sophisticated, you will be on the right track to creating a perfect pink autumn wedding.
Pink is a lovely color for bridesmaid dresses and it can definitely work for a fall wedding.
Fabric choices are going to be very important here.
The pink organza dress that looked so pretty for a June wedding will look too flimsy and summery for a wedding in October.
On the other hand, if you take that same shade of pink and find it in a heavy silk dupioni with a wonderful slubby texture, it would make for fabulous bridesmaid dresses in the chillier months of the year.
Another idea is to choose a more muted pink, such as a dusty rose, to make it fit in with the more subdued color palettes that suit a cool weather wedding.
Once you have found your bridesmaid dresses in a rich fall fabric, you may want to consider making them even more autumnal by adding sashes and bridesmaid jewelry sets in rich deep colors.
Pink looks absolutely stunning when paired with a rich chocolate brown or a medium cocoa color.
The addition of a shade of brown at the waist will make the pink dresses very elegant, and as a bonus, the dark waist sash will also be a flattering accent for your attendants' figures.
For your bridesmaid jewelry sets, have them custom made with a combination of your wedding colors, like pale pink pearls with rich chocolate brown Swarovski crystals.
Pink flowers are gorgeous for a wedding at any time of the year.
There are some ways that you can move them away from looking too springlike to looking more appropriate for a fall affair.
Certainly, you will want to avoid any flowers that have very strong associations with spring like peonies or tulips (which actually should be easy, as these flowers are not widely available in the fall anyway).
You can combine soft pink flowers with earthier dusty pink mums, asters, and heather.
Tie it all up with a beautiful deep brown velvet ribbon for an additional fall detail.
Speaking of velvet, it is one of the most sumptuous fabrics around, and it would make a welcome addition to a late fall wedding.
Pink silk velvet can be used to create decorative drapes around a chuppah or tent poles.
You can also use it to cover the reception chairs, perhaps accented with a wide brown silk ribbon sash.
A pink silk velvet is also fabulous for attire, whether it is in the form of the mother of the bride's dress, a special wrap for the bride, or even a dress for the little flower girl.
With the right fabrics and accent colors, pink can indeed be a wonderful color to use for a fall wedding.
The romance and femininity of pink make it a year-round wedding favorite.
The right handling of this sweet color can make it ideal for an autumn wedding.
